About the last thoughts on your video, Women tend to not to care as much about income. That’s in their nature. From my circle of friends, not a single women invests in anything. They do not even know what an ETF is or compound interest is. It’s funny then to see how women complain about average salary of men being higher than average salary of women. Basically it comes from the effort and interest you put in it, in having a pay rise, or a promotion. On the other hand, Average women looks better than average men, they do more skin care, they do less stupid things that can leave you a scar on the face and they use drugs less. Thus, they look better than men. It’s all about the interest you put in it. I’m happy to see how people in Zürich seems to invest their money in something. Whatever it is. In Spain, where i come from, unluckily people see the Government as their parents who will provide in case of need (spoiler, it will not happen) so they don’t invest anything. I’m pretty sure if you ask to anyone in Spain what an ETF’s is, 99% of people will not even know. Even if you say it by the name in Spanish “fondos indexados” they don’t know what that is

my suggestion for everyone who lives in switzerland is to travel to italy by car once or twice a month and do a massive shopping from there. stock some meat, eggs, milk etc etc...they are all half the price than switzerland

Very interesting video, and very good interview with very pertinent questions, thank you for sharing ! I just would like to say that despite being tiny, Switzerland is an EXTREMELY DIVERSE country. Your experience can be totally opposite depending on where you settle down : small village or big city, German part or Latin part, flat open land or mountain rural area. Different languages, different religion, different mentality, different media, different food, different way of socializing, etc. Judging the Swiss people through the Zürich glass is like juging France through Paris, or USA through NYC or LA. But indeed, Swiss people do share some common values that make them feel like belonging to the same country. Our unique democratic system is one of them. Another one is that we don't like superficiality and show-off, that's why we need time to trust people. But once we open our heart, it's always sincere and long lasting. Swiss people know that being Swiss doesn't only mean to have rights, but also to act responsible and respectful to the efforts our ancestors put in building our prosperity. Switzerland was not always a rich country : it has even been one of the poorest country of Europe until as long as after WWII, due to its harsh climate and mountains, with no natural ressources such as seas or oceans, precious metals, petrol or gas, and very small surface available for a really productive agriculture. When I look at pictures of my family 80 years ago in Valais, I see very short, dark skinned and malnourished mountain farmers, that just look way more similar to Zanskar or Tibet people than anything even remotely European. Switzerland has build itself due its own people wisdom of helping each other agains adversity and not interfering with other people's business. We like to rule our country the way we please, with no foreigner to come and tell us what we have to do on our own land. We have not colonized any country, neither enslaved anyone. We respect privacy and self-determination a lot, and we became rich because we are hard working and reliable, and people were confident to ask us take care of their money, lol.

From germany living in basel. Have similar experiences with beeing "welcomed" in switzerland. Although it is not easy to get close with local people, I have to say they try mostly their best. Swizz peolpe are super polite and respectful. With all the the diffrerent nationalities in cities the people will get more open I think and the younger generations really welcome that in my experience. I think it is a great country with nice people. And I have to say as a german that germans also like to complain a lot. =)
